There are different types of warts on hands

Warts are a common concern and are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

Warts on the hands and fingers are a type of infection spread by direct contact and are commonly seen among children.

Though it is not a serious condition, it can be annoying and embarrassing.

It is, therefore, important to understand the various types of warts to treat them effectively and prevent its spread.

TYPES OF WARTS

1) Common warts

Often referred to as seed warts, are the most common type of warts on the hands and fingers.

These warts are small, hard bumps with a firm, grainy texture and appear on the knuckles, around the fingernails and on the back side of the hands.

They are most likely to be flesh-colored, but can also be brown, yellow, or gray. They appear in clusters and are often painful when touched.

2) Filiform warts

It can appear on the backs of hands, on the fingers, or around the nails.

These warts are thin, long and look like threads or strings protruding from the skin.

They are often pink or flesh-colored and can also have a black dot in the middle, which is a blood vessel.

3) Flat warts

These are common type of wart on hands and are smoother, flatter, and less raised than other warts.

They are oval or round in shape and range in color from pale yellow to light brown.
